Mugman: Pementa's Sister

This is a remake of a scrapped episode from 2015. In the original version, Saltine had a different design and was much meaner and more menacing.

Saltine was originally going to be meaner in my remake, though not as mean as in the original. This was toned down because after showing the script to a friend, he found Saltine to be too unlikeable. After showing the revised script, he found it to be much funnier.

The title card was originally just going to be Saltine's shadow being cast over Pementa. I had Oddmouse (RevilleAJ) change this because I wanted both characters to be onscreen at once, aswell as the fact that the original title card didn't really fit the episode itself.

The original unused title card. Uploaded with permission.

The theme for the title card was recomposed in Furnace Tracker by Alex, as was the Master System FM cover of Pementa's theme, which in turn was extended.

Pementa was originally going to have watery eyes upon falling, like in the original 2015 storyboard. This was cut down to just a single tear because not only was it too serious for a Mugman episode, but I also couldn't get it to look good.

It would've looked like this.

Since the plot of the original episode is unknown beyond the first scene, I had to make up the rest.

A lot of Pementa and Saltine's dialogue was ad-libbed here.

During the recording session, one of Cami's ad-libs as Saltine was "cause you guys are so piss-poor at reading". This was cut down to just "cause you guys are so poor at reading" because I don't want that kind of language in my reboot.

One of Pementa's prototype designs makes a cameo appearance as a separate character, more specifically her party cup design.

Just like the previous mainline episode, the flea market is full of references, including:

- An empty bottle of Qoo
- The book from "The Cricket"
- The first season of Building Block World (one of my other series) on VHS
- A DMG Game Boy
- A SNES Mouse
- The Pixar ball
- A PlayStation 2 Slim (my favorite console so I had to include it)
- A Samsung Instinct (which some of you may know for having a demo of the lost mobile port of Pac-Man Plus preloaded)
- A Nee-Doh Nice Cube stressball
- A "hard" button (an obvious riff on the Staples Easy Button)

The scene where Pementa throws her wallet at Geo is a reference to the Gumball episode "The End", where the same thing happens.

Agent Googamek is a reference to Detective Pikachu.

Phil originally wasn't going to talk in this episode. I eventually gave him a single line of dialogue to practice my Phil impression.

"Yuki Yaki: Densetsu" is a reference to an old "blog post" on Pementa's Page (which was a feature on the Mugman website back in the day), where Pementa noticed Saltine watching the aforementioned show, and Pementa didn't get it.

Speaking of Yuki Yaki: Densetsu, a poster of it (or at least my interpretation of it) appears in Saltine's room.

The theater's billboard mentions a movie called "Plancy and the Lost City of Chaos", which is a reference to the movie "Dora and the Lost City of Gold".

The end credits theme is a Famicom Disk System cover of Pementa's theme, composed by yours truly. The bass I used was the Namco bass (because of course it was).
